Tournaments Rules

  1. April to September tournament hours will be from 5PM TO 7AM. Check in begins at 4PM, weigh in begins at 6AM.
  2. October and November tournament hours will be from noon to midnight. Check in begins at 11AM, weigh in begins at 11PM.
  3. Contestants are allowed to fish any or all of that time.
  4. There is a $25 entry fee per person, kids 12 & under are free. Teams consist of 1 to 4 people in one boat, with a team captain who is 18 or older.
  5. Payout will be 70%, 30% to 1st, 25% to 2nd, 15% to 3rd. There will a 5 fish weigh in, with a 1 pound penalty per fish for any dead fish.
  6. Optional entry fee for Top Catch is $10 per person with a 100% payout. Top catch entries will be included in teams 5 fish weigh in.
  7. There will be two additional weigh ins at 9PM and midnight, for anyone wanting to weigh a possible top catch entry.
  8. We ask you to pre register but it is not required, please call 832-494-8054 or email us breakawayfred@yahoo.com. This gives us an idea of how many teams to expect. Payment will be due at time of check in, cash only.
  9. All contestants must be at weigh in area by midnight on day tournaments and 7am on night tournaments.
  10. Winners will be announced as soon as all teams have been weighed in.
  11. Officials will settle all disputes and will have the final say.
  12. Each team will have a number assigned to them & must keep it visible at all times.
  13. No trotlines will be allowed, rod & reels only. Lures or live bait is contestant's choice. No baiting of holes is allowed. Chumming will be allowed.
  14. Anyone not following State, marina or tournament rules may be disqualified and/or removed from the park with no refund.
  15. NO ALCOHOL. Each team is responsible for their food & beverages.
  16. All contestants will sign a release form releasing all officials or anyone connected with the tournament from all responsibility.
  17. Disrespect to any officials or helpers may result in disqualification and/or removal from marina & campgrounds. Tournament owners reserve the right to refuse entry to anyone, refund of entry fee will be at the discretion of the tournament officials. Tournament owners reserve the right to cancel the tournament without notice. Remember we are all out here to have fun & possibly win money; let's keep it fair and clean. All teams are encouraged to bring their families. Each marina has different camping types available.
